Why do we put ourselves under so much stress?

Stress is subjective, as you can imagine what is stressful for some is not for others.

The ability to feel stress is closely linked to feeling alive as a human being.

Stress, although it comes in different forms eg physical, mental, emotional & spiritual, it creates an energetic pressure that brings about change.

Sometimes the change is tiny and not even visible, other times it can be gigantic.

Consider stress an opportunity for moving in a conscious direction.

When you are leaning into stress, you are feeling the opposite of flow.  There is some form of resistance happening for you.

And for stress to be relieved there needs to be an easing of resistance.

Too often people do not look closely at the  components of the resistance which is causing them the stress.

They point the finger at someone or something else, rather than taking a closer look at themselves and the belief structure they are trying to align with, which is ultimately causing them the discomfort.

Even a person in a corporate job who is feeling a stress from bosses and deliverables, is placing that on themselves through their beliefs of needing to do or be something that they are not fully aligned with.

A parent feels stress when the child doesn’t feel great or behave well in accordance with their beliefs.  That causes stress self-inflicted by the parent, not by the child, but that is often not understood.

The ability to really understand the resistance points of stress triggers in your life, will assist you in reducing stress to a healthy level. This in turn creates the initiation for positive change but not the feeling of overwhelm.

Be honest with yourself on what the true cause of your stress is.

Is it that you believe you need to perform at a certain level or in a certain role to be loved by your partner, boss, children, family, society?

Reassess the details to allow yourself the ability to choose different beliefs around what is important and what you can let go of.

You are the most important person in your life.  Remember that and prioritise yourself accordingly.

It is not being selfish when you behave in an approach of true self love. Actions become distorted and have negative influences on others when you behave that way because of fear of what others will think. True self love actions benefit everyone.

Take some time to look into the details of your stress to find your flow more easily.
