Purpose of pain

What is the purpose of pain?

We all have aches and pains, some are niggles some are debilitating! Why? Why do we need to feel such incredible pain at times and what is the best way to approach it?

OK, yes pain is a part of life, it can be physical, mental or emotional.

The pain comes from a discomfort between what is and what you would like. It can be considered resistance and also a communication tool.

When we talk about pain as a resistance point in your current life experience, we want you to know even in this situation it is a communication mechanism.

And the message is always the same.

The body or mind says, ‘Hello, I am not comfortable, please work out why so this situation can be resolved.’

If there was no discomfort to be resolved, then there would be no pain.

It is never something to be ignored.

It is like a warning light on a piece of equipment which is about to overhead or explode.

At a biological level, pain is telling you that something is wrong. Pain from a cut tells you that some of your cells have been damaged, pain from a cramp tells you that those cells in your body are out of balance. It is always your body communicating with you at some level.

Many, if not most people, will nowadays just take a chemical tablet to numb the pain. Or even something from the natural therapy cabinet.

But, in every instance such as this, you are overriding your warning system which is telling you for some reason or another certain cells in your body are out of balance and therefore uncomfortable.

It’s like when you eat too much and you’re feeling lethargic and uncomfortable, or you don’t eat enough nutritious food and you’re hangry. Your cells are out of balance with too little or too much with whatever components keep them in balance and comfortable.

Now... yes sometimes that can be resolved with physical changes, but underlying that there are always energetic imbalances that have occurred to place the individual in physical discomfort. Their natural ‘protective radar’ or intuition is not keeping them alert to danger or discomfort which allows them to make decisions physically or mentally with beliefs to keep them in balance.

We want you to remember you are being given a message that you need to take the time to decipher.

Firstly, ask am I doing something physical to myself that I need to change and what am I thinking about myself that needs to change so I stop putting myself in physical discomfort.

Depending on how long you have been ignoring the ‘pain’ will depend on how many layers of belief you may need to make your way through to determine the primary cause.

Use your intuition or allow yourself to be guided by others to get to a deeper intuitive understanding on why you have created pain in your body which is flagging cells that require assistance.

Natural therapies such as acupuncture can assist to relieve pain but once again, the deeper cause of the pain may need to be uncovered for it to be fully release in the future.

Why do the cells allow or not allow themselves to be in balance?

As we said before, that assistance may come in the form of physical changes, but also the updating of your own self awareness.

If it is bad pain, what are you thinking and feeling about your body at the time? About your life? About your current experience? Rather than trying to resolve it by numbing the pain, ask for clues to understand, why are my cells so out of balance? What are they telling me?

Breathe deeply, and release some of the painful contraction. Focus on getting some energetic space into the area. Ask for clues to help you understand what you are thinking and feeling that might be contributing to this pain. It may be simple or it may be complex.

See if you can identify one or two words or visions, that may pop up for you. Or any thoughts or beliefs you have around the pain. Listen to your self talk and observe it rather than judging it.

The reduction or elimination of pain comes from the cells being heard, soothed, calmed and being brought back into balance. They are a ‘mini’ version of you. Ask the questions to resolve the mystery of the message. The information is always there if you take the time and space to listen. Take the responsibility to get to the full understanding, the resolution of the pain sits with you.
